ABDO BUDA MARCONI TRIO
Ashti Abdo, Manuel Buda and Fabio Marconi started making music together in January 2016, and have never stopped since: a special alchemy bound them, and this alchemy enchanted audiences since the first concerts. If there’s a “homeland” for the Trio’s music, that could be found in the interconnected cultures of Italy, Greece, the Balkans, and on until Turkey and Caucasus. A wealth of melodies, musical forms, rhythms, that talk to each other and show incredible similarities: that’s where we understand how emotionally and musically close these populations are.
A musical encounter, but human as well; roots and persons came together: Ashti Abdo, Syrian Kurdish, he a witness of a story and culture that to this day are struggling for their bare existence. Manuel Buda, a Jew with roots in Sephardic Livorno, Rome and deep southern Calabria. Fabio Marconi, from Milan, a hungry researcher of folk music from the world.
